Some hacker(-ish) stuff

Sometimes a Geek’s gotta do what a Geek’s gotta do:

Windows 11 identifier code used to track Scattered Spider perp after Microsoft shared info with FBI

*chuckles*

“Hackers” on Windows … this is why i went with Linux in the first place.

If Windows 11 is automatically identifiable through Microsoft’s Global Device Identifier (GDID) , what’s the use of paying for good VPN any more? The good people of Windscribe developed a powershell script to remove the automated identifier buried deep within its entrails. I’m doing this because my gaming addiction doesn’t seem to subside any time soon – i *need* a well working Windows because it is way faster for gaming as Linux is. *Do NOT* execute this script if you depend on Microsoft’s cloud services, if you don’t know if your account is local or not or if you can not operate Powershell properly.

NoGDID

Also removed Windows 11 AI capabilities (and probably tracking). It’s not like i have that much to hide, it’s just that i think Obfuscation equals Sports, ‘their’ commercial wits against me and me brethern. As far as i’m concerned i have still got a right to privacy, no, after 29 years on the internet an Obligation to technically enforce it as best as i can. So what if i hose my machine? Would just plug in my Fedora SSD and proceed like not much happened.
